How to Safely Tie Your Christmas Tree to the Roof of Your Car

A recent holiday road hazards survey by Car Rentals showed that nearly 60% of Americans don’t know how to properly tie a Christmas tree to the roof of their cars. Most alarmingly, the AAA Traffic Safety reported over 200,000 crashes as a result of road debris in a span of four years, including fallen Christmas trees.

If this doesn’t frighten you, the graph below shows some of the highest fines for creating road debris in some states. Keep in mind that every state has fines for creating road debris, below are just some of the highest.

To help transport your tree safely from now on, I thought I’d share this step-by-step guide and tips on how to do it safely and hopefully avoid creating dangerous road debris for other drivers. By following these rules, driving slowly and checking for weather road conditions ahead of time, you’ll be able to get your tree home without a hitch!

Happy holidays everyone!
