Instead, open up the windows. Encourage them to breathe in fresh air and listen to motivational messages. Provide fresh flowers, sweet cards with motivational messages, and proper bedside manners to your family member.
Rally a Support System

Develop Systems and Schedules
Managing an adult’s new schedule involves systems and planning. Once you’ve pinpointed all of the needs, start assigning tasks to various people. Certain people can be responsible for cleaning the house each week. Someone else might be responsible for taking care of the meal prepping. You can take the family member to the doctor each week. Someone else can be in charge of grocery shopping or repairs around the house. All of these little tasks add up. It’s helpful to have someone who’s willing to pick up a specific portion of the load.
Depending on the severity of the accident, understand that it could potentially take some time before your family member is up and about again. Knowing this, make sure that you put your safety mask on. Before you work on helping anyone, make sure that your family situation is intact. Don’t neglect yourself in the process of taking care of someone else. While it’s good and thoughtful to think of others, make sure you’re okay as well.
