Pet Safety Tips for the Holidays

Only 12 days till Christmas! The tree is lit, the stockings are hung, and Christmas carols are on repeat. All of these things are what make the holiday season so special for us, but you may be surprised to know some of our favorite traditions can be harmful to your furry friend. To ensure a happy and healthy howliday, PuppySpot is raising awareness on things to look out for while celebrating with pets.

Storing cookies and other festive foods out of pets reach is crucial to make sure they don’t wind up with a stomach ache. If you do choose to give your pup a holiday treat, cored apples and baby carrots are always a safe bet.

Same idea goes for decorations. Keeping tinsel, lights, and other potentially dangerous decor well organized and out of the way is especially important for homes with curious pups. If your dog does insist on being a part of the party, try stuffing a special stocking for them with a healthy treat and new toy or bone to keep them occupied. Staying aware and informing your guests of these do’s and don’ts to will ensure your fur babies and safe and happy holiday!

Thinking of adding a four-legged friend to your family this Christmas? Always remember to do your research to determine which puppy is best for you and your family’s lifestyle. Happy Howlidays!
