7 Common Discomforts Of Pregnancy

If you already have experienced a pregnancy, you must know the common discomforts women face after getting pregnant. But if you are pregnant for the first time, you should know the following 7 common pregnancy discomforts:

1. Dizziness

Dizziness is one of the many common pregnancy problems women face. It can be the result of dehydration, quick movement from a sitting position to a standing position, low iron in the body, low blood sugar, or low blood pressure due to the uterus compressing major arteries.

2. Backache

Backache is another discomfort that causes due to multiple reasons. As the weight of a woman increases after pregnancy, her body balance can change. Her center of gravity is pulled forward. As the pelvic joints of a woman’s body start to loosen in preparation for giving birth to the child, a woman feels the back strain. Right lifting techniques and proper posture throughout the pregnancy can significantly lessen backache.

3. Constipation

Hormone change due to pregnancy can slow down food processing in the body causing constipation. Increased pressure on the intestines and rectum from pregnancy too can interfere with digestion and bowel movements. Increasing fiber in diet, regular exercise, and increasing fluids can be good ways to prevent constipation due to pregnancy.

4. Stretch Marks

You might find many pinkish stretch marks on the buttocks, thighs, breasts, and abdomen due to pregnancy. Even ache breakouts may occur when you are pregnant. One of the main reasons for these discomforts is a sudden increase in weight.

5. Vomiting/Nausea

Nausea is commonly known as “morning sickness”. It can occur during any trimester and at any time of the day. Eating multiple times throughout the day can help lessen this problem.

6. Fatigue

Fatigue can be one of the major problems as it can get really profound at times. Taking rest is the best solution but you must consult your doctor if the gets severe.

7. Breast Changes

Breasts can slowly get bigger in preparation for producing milk. While it may not be equality discomforting for all women, it can be an issue. Cotton bras are preferable to those made of synthetic fabrics to lessen discomfort.

There are many more common problems but at least you prepare mentally for these 7 common discomforts of pregnancy and learn how to avoid or lessen them.

  1. Oh yes, I know all of these discomforts well as a mom of three. My first had the worst hiccups in my belly that drove me crazy, and my youngest two gave me terrible heartburn.

  2. I could never have children, but have seen all these discomforts in most all pregnant women I know.
