When you are planning a family vacation, you need to pick somewhere that has plenty of things to keep the kids entertained, but also somewhere that has things for adults to do as well. It’s your vacation too, after all. Finding that balance is tricky and although there are plenty of great family vacation spots around the globe, Florida is one of the best because it has something to offer everybody. Whether you’re looking for a typical beach holiday, a jam-packed adventure trip, or a burst of culture, you will find it here. These are some of the best family-friendly destinations to visit in Florida.
Orlando
Orlando is the first place that springs to mind when you are looking for family-friendly destinations in Florida because it is home to over a dozen theme parks. People from around the world flock to Orlando to visit Disney World and Universal Studios. These are among the best theme parks in the world and you’ll find so many amazing rides and attractions. They’re always changing and the latest additions include the Harry Potter Wizarding World and the Star Wars land, which are sure to be a hit with the kids. The on-site hotels are quite expensive so if you’re working to a budget, it’s best to stay at one of the nearby hotels. A lot of them offer shuttle buses to the parks so you don’t need to worry about getting there. If you’re looking for places to eat before heading to an attraction, do a quick search, for example, “Sunday brunch Orlando” to find the best local restaurants.
Miami
You may be surprised to see Miami on this list because it’s best known for being a party destination filled with nightclubs, but that’s only one small part of what this great city has to offer, and it’s actually great for kids. There are some beautiful beaches and if you do a quick search for boat rental Miami, you can hire a boat for the day and enjoy the water and the amazing views. Miami also has a great children’s museum and a science museum so you can make it an educational trip. There is also a wildlife center for animal lovers out there.
Clearwater Beach
Florida is filled with great beaches but if that is going to be the main focus of your trip, you should head over to Clearwater Beach. It’s a great family-friendly beach destination that has plenty of opportunities for sunbathing and the surrounding area has lots of activities for the kids. There is a wide range of beachfront hotels, so you will be able to find a cheaper one if you are on a budget, but there are some great luxury ones as well if you want to push the boat out. In the surrounding area, you will find some great attractions like the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. You can also take a day trip to St. Petersburg where there is a great children’s museum and if you are interested in sports, you might even be able to catch a Tampa Rays baseball game while you’re there.
These are just some of the amazing family-friendly destinations that you could visit in Florida.
