If you’re a history enthusiast, you should know that Canberra is a goldmine of cultural and historical landmarks. There are a ton of museums that you can visit and they showcase very diverse exhibits. You can learn a lot about the culture and history of Australia there. The Australian national botanic gardens are another must-see. Even if you aren’t much of a fan of plants, you should still check it out for its historic value.

Relax in Jervis Bay

This place is a classic among family-oriented getaways. If you enjoy laying on the beach and relaxing, this might just be the place for you. It has gorgeous white sand beaches that you can lay on for hours. It has a kind of paradisal atmosphere to it that is hard to explain.

If you enjoy the sight of white sand, you’ll be happy to know that Jervis Bay is home to the famous Hyams Beach, which boasts the whitest sand on its beaches. Whether that’s true or not doesn’t matter, you’ll still find that it is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches you’ve ever visited. Just remember to bring some sunscreen and spare towels.

Hunter Valley

If you just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a big city, Hunter Valley might just be the place for you. It’s a quaint little place that is known as one of Australia’s most prominent wine regions. If you’re a connoisseur of fine wine, you can’t avoid Hunter Valley.

The vineyards aren’t the only nature that is present in Hunter Valley, it also features scenery and wildlife that you won’t find in many other places. It’s the ideal place to relax alongside a refreshing glass of wine.

Prepare your car for the trip

No matter where you decide to go, you’re going to have to prepare your vehicle for the trip. There are a ton of things that can go wrong, even if you take good care of your car. This isn’t much of a problem when you’re in the city, because you’ll always be able to call a tow truck for help.

When you find yourself stuck in the middle of nowhere, you might not have the luxury of any kind of help but your own. While you’re on the way to a mountain range, a tyre could blow out and you would be left with an immobile car. You could solve this with a quick flat tyre change, but only if you have a spare tyre or some emergency numbers. Either way, you need to have a plan and prepare your car before going on the trip.

The Blue Mountains

These mountains are a very popular option for day-trip destinations. The Blue Mountains have more hiking paths than you could cross in a week’s time. They all lead through beautiful stretches of nature that will leave you feeling awestruck.
