Everyone loves kitchen gadgets. Some are more useful than others. When you’re cooking for a large family, it is important to have the right tools. Here are some items that will help you prepare those large quantity meals:

Consider a Large Crock Pot

A crock pot is a good way to save time on meal preparation. A large one can be used if you have a large family or if you are going to a family gathering. This is one way to ensure that there is enough food to go around. Crock pots are extremely versatile. It can be used for sauces, main courses, or desserts. This is a must have for every kitchen even if you don’t have a large family. You can make healthy soups and stews just by throwing in some ingredients. Then you can run out the door for the day, and still have dinner ready when you get home.

Invest in Large Pots and Pans

If you find yourself using two or three pots to make one meal, it’s time to invest in larger cookware. The most obvious reason for this is that you can fit more food in a larger pot. It will also save you time cleaning everything up at the end of the meal. Washing one pot is faster than having to wash out two. There are several types of meals that are even designed to be one pot recipes. Then you only have to watch over one pot that is cooking instead of trying to juggle multiples. This can save you some time in your meal preparation.

Use Large Baking Sheets

Large baking sheets allow you to make a large number of baked goods at one time. You won’t have to spend hours trying to make enough for your family. Reducing the number of batches that has to be baked can leave you with some free time. Mega muffin pans are a good option for a large family. It also makes storing bakeware easier as well. Just because you have a large family, doesn’t mean that you have a large kitchen. You may be running a little short on storage space. Only having a few items that need to be stored leaves room for other things.

Have a Food Storage System

Containers that have lids are a great way to store any leftovers. Make lunch time easier by packing leftovers for your kids. You might even be able to make some of your meals ahead of time. Having baking dishes that have lids can make it easy to prep casseroles on the weekend. You can store them in the freezer and then just heat them up for mealtime. Some systems are easier to use than others. Interlocking lids or having a dedicated space can save you from the lost lid syndrome. Create a system that works for you and your family.

Preparing meals for a large family doesn’t have to be hard. Use these kitchen tool ideas to make your meal prep simpler.
