However, a lot of people don’t really know how to wear their sunscreen properly. Here are 12 do’s and don’ts that you must take note of:

Do’s

The sun can also be a huge factor in skin aging. It can also reduce the prevalence of skin problems such as dark spots and uneven coloration.

  • Do Your Research

Research about the type of sunscreen that would best suit your skin type. There are many kinds of sunscreens in the market today. They also have different characteristics and each has its own pros and cons.

You can also easily get overwhelmed because of the countless products available. However, you can read about the product descriptions online as well as watch or read product reviews. This would help you narrow down what you’re looking for.

There are different types of sunscreens for different parts of the body. Sunscreens used on the beach are also different from what you should wear every day.

Milder and lighter products are used for the face. While heavier and thicker products are used for the body. Products for the beach also tend to be thicker and stickier. Thus, you may need to use different kinds of sunscreens for optimal protection. Experts say mineral powder sunscreen can also work.

  • Apply Evenly

People often forget to apply sunscreen to other areas of the body. You should apply it even on areas that are hard to reach such as the neck and back. Don’t also forget to apply it to your hands and feet.

  • Apply Ahead Of Time

You must apply sunscreen before you head out for the day. Don’t wait for you to be exposed until you apply it. This is because the harmful rays of the sun may already do damage.

Sunscreens also need time to dry up and be absorbed by the skin. So, it’s recommended that you apply them 15 to 30 minutes before you go out.
