Family Fun at Hollywood Wax Museum in Branson!

If you want to have a blast without breaking the bank, you seriously need to hit up Hollywood Wax Museum in Branson, MO. I have always lived within an hour and a half of Branson my entire life. I’ve been so many times, I’ve lost count. I always remembering gawking at the large ape on the building when I was little. However, my family and I just never got around to going to the Hollywood Wax Museum.

I’m super glad that changed with our last visit to Branson! We spent a few wonderful hours truly enjoying ourselves at the Hollywood Wax Museum, which includes Castle of Chaos, Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors, and Shoot for the Stars Mini Golf. I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun it was for all ages. When I say fun, I mean, forget what time it is, your face hurts from smiling, sort of fun, no matter how old or young you are.

We started the wax museum. Neither my husband or I had been to a wax museum before because we thought it was just looking at a bunch of wax figures. However, when we got inside, we realized it was so much more. They had prop stations where you could look like some of the wax figures and take posed photos. Of course, I geeked out over the Star Trek and Predator figurines and loved the photos I got with them.

One of the best parts of the Hollywood Wax Museum is the giant ape that sits on the building. It’s definitely become a landmark as far as Branson is concerned. It sits 50 feet high and weighs 42 thousand pounds! With the ape plus the fact that the Hollywood Wax Museum is the longest running wax museum in the United States, they’ve made quite a name for themselves in more ways than one.

We visited the Castle of Chaos and Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors next. They both have the same entrance. If you go to the left, you’re entering Castle of Chaos which allows you to choose from two different virtual video game style experiences. We chose the werewolf one that was pretty scary and had me screaming at the top of my lungs. You enter a theater style room with the same style seating with other folks. You choose a seat, strap in, and pick up a gun. The story/video starts and you shoot at the bad guys with everything you’ve got. Once finished, it shows your photo for everyone and where you placed. It’s sort of a competition for points like any video game. We got 2nd and 3rd and were celebs for it!

We then entered Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors and quickly learned the trick to a mirror maze. Never put your hands down and walk slowly or you’ll end up with a smashed nose. We made it through the maze pretty quickly. We even had people following us we were doing so well. It would be great with letting little kids figure it out as it would be a bigger challenge for them.

We ended the day at Shoot for the Stars Mini Golf. It was SO clean at every place we went to but the mini golf place took us by surprise how nicely put together it was. We won’t mention that I kicked my husbands bum at mini golf. They had adorable little themes and motion censored statues that interacted with you as you passed them. Definitely one of the best mini golf places we had been to in a long time.

Overall, I couldn’t recommend Hollywood Wax Museum more for your next family day out or vacation. It’s one of the best spots that covers it all without having to drive all around from place to place. Easy to book and easy to get in and out of each place. Don’t miss it!
