Are you tired of endless scooping and seeking another alternative? Perhaps you like to travel but hate to burden your friends and family to come over and clean the litter box while you’re away. I’m happy to announce that PetSafe® has the perfect solution: the ScoopFree® Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box!
ScoopFree is a self-cleaning litter box that cat owners simply plug in and leave alone for weeks at a time. An automatic rake system sweeps solid waste into the covered trap 20 minutes after a cat uses the litter box. If your cat re-enters the box before the cleaning cycle, detection sensors automatically reset the rake timer. You may adjust the rake timer to 5, 10, or 20 minutes after your cat uses the box.
A built-in health counter tracks how many times the cat has used the box, which helps the cat’s owner quickly identify any possible health problems.
An optional privacy hood helps keep litter in the box.
The disposable litter trays set ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box apart from others because they are packed with special, crystal litter that absorbs moisture. The crystal litter is five times more effective at reducing odors than clay and clumping litters.
Crystal Litter features also include
- Disposable trays for hands-off convenience
- Uses 5-10x less litter than clay or clumping litter
- 99% dust free
- Absorbs urine on contact and dries solid waste to reduce odor
I bet you’re wondering how often you need to change the litter trays. That was my initial thought. For best results, it is recommended that you change the trays approximately once a month for one cat, every two weeks for 2 cats, and every 7-10 days for three cats.
We received the Taupe ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box for our review. (Purple is also an option) I must say that I am impressed with how well the litter box works. The crystal litter does such an outstanding job drying the waste so the rake can effectively clean the box without any mess. In other words, you don’t have to clean the rake after the rake scoops the box! The unit is self-sufficient as they claim.
To entice the cat to use the box, we scooped a piece of waste from the old litter box and placed it into the ScoopFree litter box. We left the old litter box out in the same room just to see which one would be used the next morning. Note: We unplugged the ScoopFree litter box during the transition.
This cat has had the same litter box his whole life and I was a little worried about how well he would adjust to a new one. However, I am pleased to share that the next morning the old litter box had not been used and there was waste waiting to be scooped in the ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box. After plugging in the power adaptor, ScoopFree took care of the rest. (In love!)
