With the sun starting to shine on a more regular basis and people enjoying getting outdoors during the long days, summer has well and truly arrived. And with the new season, comes the opportunity for you to look your very best. There are plenty of ways you can do this, but this blog will provide a quick overview of some of the best methods for giving yourself that summer glow. So, let’s dive right in and take a closer look.

Apply Makeup Subtly

Though makeup is one of the best ways of enhancing your natural beauty, you don’t want to go totally overboard. Heavy makeup can be a mistake in summer, particularly if the humidity starts to pick up. So, you could start with a tinted moisturizer before applying some light foundation – RCMA cosmetics are a good choice. Some bronzing powder also gives off a nice sun-kissed look, but don’t go overboard with this as you don’t want to look too orange! Complete the look with some blush on the apples of your cheeks and a nice eyeshadow color.

Don’t Forget the Sun Lotion

Though you should be wearing sun lotion all year round, this becomes especially important during the summer months. Not only is this important for your health, there is nothing alluring about skin that is red raw! How strong an SPF factor you use really depends on your skin type, but most people go for one that is around 30 which allows you to tan but gives your skin that layer of protection.

Give Your Hair Some Added Shine

There are a number of factors which aren’t great for your hair during the summer months including sun, chlorine, and wind. Don’t forget to wash and condition your hair after you go swimming to get rid of the salt or chemicals and restore some of the moisture. However, too much shampoo can be a problem so you should consider switching to a gentler option. You could try giving your hair that extra shine with oil that you spray to add some extra moisture and glossiness.

Keep Your Feet Happy

During the summer, your feet need to be given the chance to breathe so you should consider making the switch to open sandals which will help keep them dry and avoid all manner of nasty conditions. This is an area which people often forget about when they are applying sun lotion which often has painful results! Having a pedicure is a great way to prepare your feet for increased exposure.

Maintain a Healthy Diet

Your diet has such a big impact on how good you look so you should make sure you stay healthy during the summer. Fresh fruits and vegetables help to keep your skin hydrated while drinking plenty of water also makes a big difference. Just some of the good options that you should consider include spinach, cucumber, watermelons and oranges which all contain an abundance of nutrients.

  1. As a Floridian, we all know that you need to apply your sunscreen VERY frequently. One coating is NOT going to last you all day! We see tourists make this mistake all the time.
