Romantic Getaways in Thailand

Thailand is known as the ‘Land of Smiles’ and is called this for very good reason. The people are courteous and always seem to have a smile on their face, even when working! Thailand is also famous for its amazing food, ancient culture and believe it or not, romantic hideaways in paradise. Thailand is a huge country of differing landscapes and even cultures, so you need to choose your destinations carefully.

Like most seasoned travelers say, to get the very best out of Thailand, you should visit more than one destination. Luxury Thailand escorted tours and travel packages are a fantastic option for those who want to get out there and see the real Thailand with their loved one. There are so many fantastic destinations for romance in Thailand. I can’t possibly list them all here, so I will concentrate on a few favorites.

The Destinations

1 Phuket

This has been a popular destination for honeymooners for years and even if it’s not your honeymoon, you can still enjoy the romantic atmosphere as you enjoy a candlelit dinner overlooking the Andaman Sea. A favourite spot for couples visiting Phuket for a romantic meal is Banana Beach which is between Bang Tao and Nai Thon beaches.  Romance Rating – 9.5/10

2 Bangkok

Ok, so it hasn’t got the same atmosphere as Paris or Rome but there are some romantic hotspots in the thriving megacity that is Bangkok. Most people enjoy a romantic meal at one of the many sky bars overlooking the city. This really is a sight to behold and can certainly be romantic. A must-visit sky bar is Sirocco in the Silom area of Bangkok. Romance Rating – 8.5/10

3 Chiang Mai

Thailand’s second city has an old-world charm about it, and this is reflected in the architecture and culture. Here the pace of life is slower, giving you ample opportunity to take in all the sights at a leisurely place. A highly recommended romantic activity might surprise you a little bit here, it’s a northern Thai cooking course which you can do together, a lot of couples enjoyed it anyway! Romance Rating – 9.5/10

4 Hua Hin

Hua Hin is a coastal town situated around 3 hours south of Bangkok at the top of the Malaysian peninsula and is the summer home of the Thai royal family. Despite tourism, this town on the Royal Coast has retained its character and there are some fine restaurants and hotels overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. You’ll find no all-night parties here, the atmosphere in tranquil and perfect for a romantic break as reflected in the rating. Romance Rating – 9/10
