Home Remedies for Split Ends

One of the absolute worst things I dread when it comes to my hair is split ends. Split ends are caused by an array of things like curling irons, blow dryers, and hair straighteners, not to mention the sun, dust, wind, and pollution. All of these can parch your hair, leaving you with dry hair and split ends.

Helpful home remedies to help with split ends

Eggs – One of the best home remedies for split ends is eggs. Eggs help to get rid of split ends along with the dullness and dryness that go along with them. Once a week, use an egg beaten with a teaspoon of water as a shampoo.

Papaya – Papaya is great for providing your hair with solace from split ends. To make a paste, mush together one papaya with half a cup of plain yogurt. Then, apply to your hair, allow to set for 30 minutes, and then rinse with warm water. You can do this treatment once or twice a week.

Avocado – Avocados are ideal for deep conditioning your hair since they are loaded with things that are good for your hair like magnesium, folic acid, and protein. Once a week, create a hair mask by combining one avocado mushed together with one tablespoon of coconut oil and one tablespoon of olive oil. Apply the mask to your hair, allow to set for 25 minutes, and rinse with warm water.

Mayonnaise – Mayonnaise works well for preventing split ends and leaving your hair nourished. Twice a week, apply half a cup of mayonnaise to semi-wet hair. Allow to set for 20 minutes and rinse with warm water.
